1. How do I book a tattoo at Once Upon a Tattoo?
You can book online through our website or by visiting our Downtown Victoria studio. A deposit is required to reserve your spot.
2. Do you take walk-ins?
Yes! We welcome walk-ins 7 days a week for small to medium tattoos, subject to artist availability. For larger or highly detailed designs, we recommend booking in advance so we can dedicate the right amount of time to your piece.
3. Can you create a design just for me?
Absolutely. Every tattoo we create is custom and inspired by your story, style, and ideas. We never copy another artist’s work.
4. How much will my tattoo cost?
Pricing depends on size, detail, and placement. Smaller tattoos start at our studio minimum, and we’ll give you an exact quote during your consultation.
5. Does it hurt?
Pain levels vary from person to person. Most describe it as mild to moderate discomfort — and we’ll make sure you’re as comfortable as possible throughout the process.
6. How should I prepare for my tattoo appointment?
Get a good night’s rest, eat a hearty meal, and drink plenty of water. Wear comfortable clothes that allow easy access to the tattoo area. Avoid alcohol or blood-thinning medications 24 hours before your appointment.
7. What aftercare do you recommend?
We’ll provide you with step-by-step aftercare instructions and suggest the best products to help your tattoo heal beautifully and last for years to come.
8. Do you do cover-ups or refresh old tattoos?
Yes — we love transforming old tattoos into fresh, vibrant art. Bring in photos or show us in person so we can discuss the possibilities.
9. Can I bring a friend with me?
Yes, you’re welcome to bring one support person. We keep our space calm and focused so the magic can happen without distractions.
10. What if I need to reschedule or cancel?
Please give us at least 48 hours’ notice to reschedule without losing your deposit. Deposits are non-refundable but can be transferred to a new date with proper notice.
11. Do you tattoo minors?
No — our studio policy is 18+ for all tattoos, even with parental consent.
12. Can I get tattooed if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?
For your safety, we do not tattoo clients who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
